Food Bank Our Food Bank, part of the Associated Churches Food Bank System, provides food and personal hygiene items to a defined area. The general borders are the St. Mary's River (North and West) Rudisill Street (South) and Fairfield Avenue (East). The Wellspring Center is also an “emergency food bank site” on Saturdays. In 2007 we saw record-setting servivce as 57,225 meals were provided to 1,641 unduplicated individuals representing 620 families. The increase in food distributions was up 42% from 2006. We are anticipating a very significant increase of over 60% in food distribution in 2008. We also provide information and referrals to Food Bank recipients. Needs of the Food Bank include volunteers to work weekly or twice a month shifts during scheduled hours and donations of non-perishable food and personal hygiene items.
